HOPES are high of good news within weeks over Keighley s bid for millions of pounds to rejuvenate the town. The man chairing the board which has put forward a sweeping package of proposals for up to £25m of Government cash says he remains extremely positive and confident about the result. Positive discussions and engagement are continuing with the Government office and Bradford Council, says Ian Hayfield, who heads-up the Keighley Town Deal Board. Everyone involved is working flat out to achieve a favourable outcome. On a personal note I have to say thank you to council officers, who have been working around the clock on this.

Oxy Oman, AWHC sign sponsorship agreement

MUSCAT: Occidental of Oman, Inc (Oxy Oman) and the Association for the Welfare of the Handicapped Children (AWHC) announced the signing of a sponsorship agreement. Under this agreement, Oxy Oman will fund printing a curriculum dedicated to handicapped children. The signing ceremony was held in Muscat Hall at Oxy Oman’s Headquarters in Al Ghubra. Steve Kelly, President and General Manager of Oxy Oman and Dr Mohammed Reda Hassan Chairman of the Association were signatories for their respect organisations. The curriculum is a new imitative and is prepared and reviewed by consultants from the Omani Ministry of Education. This curriculum will be distributed to those who are in charge of teaching, rehabilitating and training children with disabilities and it will help Omani teachers create educational plans and programs for disabled children. He was found unresponsive by a co-worker and died three days later in Christchurch Hospital’s intensive care unit.
