Since it is New Year s Eve, I was thinking about Green Day s Good Riddance (Time of Your Life ), which has been an event staple for more than two decades now. They performed the song on MTV on New Year s Eve back in 1998 when Carson Daly was dating Jennifer Love Hewitt. Yes, this was a very long time ago.
My point was, this song that turned into a prom song was actually inspired by the original, good riddance part of the title. Thank god this is over. Perfect for 2020. Here s a bad VHS version of it, featuring the aforementioned Daly - JLH couple. There s a slightly better version on YouTube without Carson, but it just lacks the authenticity.

The Brooklyn Nets are currently the ratings kings of New York City according to this tweet from the YES Network. Through three games this season, the Nets are attracting about 25,000 more viewers on their regional cable sports network than the New York Knicks are on MSG Network. The New York Post calls this stunning news with writer Marc Berman wondering if this is the first time in history this has happened.

It has been a long year. Twenty-twenty has been tough on everyone in their own way. In the grand scheme of things, I know I ve been quite lucky. For my wife and I, the biggest challenge has been raising two small children while working remotely. Little kids don t care about meetings or writing sports blogs in a timely manner. They just want you to put Cocomelon on the TV and fix the damn blanket fort for the 50th time in the last 12 minutes. Again, I realize these are good problems to have right now.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the driver s seat of the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes. All they have to do is not mess up and win a game and they will land the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and land the Clemson quarterback.
