The San Angelo Rodeo Association opened ticket sales for all performances of the 2021 schedule starting at 10 am this morning and it s no surprise to regular attendees of our San Angelo rodeo, tickets for the Cinch Shootout sold out within minutes. The finals or Short Go of the regular rodeo competition is held the night before and always sell out quickly as well.
The Cinch Chute-Out is always the final performance of the rodeo and has always been extremely popular since if was first held back in 2012. The Cinch Shootout features ten of the nations top cowboys featured in the events of Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bareback Riding, Calf Roping, Team Roping, Steer Wrestling and Women s Barrel Racing. This competition features the best of the best and for big prize money.

After he graduates from Moffat County High School, senior Donnie Quick will be taking his talents to Eastern Wyoming College on a rodeo scholarship, fulfilling a childhood goal.
Competing in rodeo since he was a young boy, Quick’s specialty is team roping, in which two people tie up a steer while on horseback and steer wrestling, in which a participant also on horseback jumps off and grabs a steer dragging it down to the ground in the quickest time possible. Although he prefers steer wrestling, Quick will be doing both for the Lancers.

In honor of Black History Month, Leon Coffee, San Antonio s well-known rodeo clown was given a shout-out by the ProRodeo Hall of Fame & Museum of the American Cowboy on their Facebook page Thursday afternoon.
San Antonians who frequently attended the San Antonio rodeo should be familiar with Coffee and his comical routine that entertained rodeogoers of all ages.

We’ve wrangled up some fun rodeo trivia, answer correctly and you’re headed to the Lone Star Rodeo in Muhlenberg County. Darn tootin’ it happens five times daily.
