Southern Delaware Tourism hosts Society of American Travel Writers meeting

Southern Delaware Tourism (SDT) was selected to host one of two meetings this spring of the Eastern Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW). The meeting was held at the Hyatt Place Dewey Beach on June 6-9. In their first in-person meeting since 2019, 17 SATW members, including 12 travel writers, attended the three-day event, which included a full day of professional development featuring a panel of Culinary Coast restaurateurs and marketers discussing why and how Delaware has become such a foodie paradise, as well as what’s new and upcoming. The day also featured Stephanie Puglisi, head of content for Roadtrippers and Togo RV, presenting the keynote, as well as talks by Mark Carter, director of Beer & Benevolence for Dogfish Head, and Jim Rapp, owner and guide for Delmarva Birding Weekends.

SoDel Concepts has promoted Maggie Cellitto to corporate chef. She will oversee the culinary operations at three of the company’s restaurants: Matt’s Fish Camp and Bluecoast Seafood Grill in Bethany Beach and NorthEast Seafood Kitchen in Ocean View.Coastal Point • Submitted (Pamela Aquilani) Scott Kammerer, president of SoDel Concepts, recently announced the promotion of Maggie Cellitto to corporate chef. Cellitto was previously the executive chef at Matt’s Fish Camp near Bethany Beach.
