The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on January 16th a little before 2 p.m. deputies responded to Dunham Road in Waterloo for a tree logging accident.
Todd Washburn, 52, of Waterloo was severely injured after a large tree fell on top of him. He was pinned to the ground, but several individuals there were able to free him.
Deputies said he was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital where he remains in stable condition. Mercy Flight transported Washburn, who suffered a severe leg and pelvis injury.

On Monday around 3 p.m. police arrested Michael J. Greco, 28, of Seneca Falls following a domestic incident and pursuit.
Around 1 p.m. the Seneca County 911 Center received a call reporting a physical domestic incident in a hotel parking lot. Upon arrival police located a female victim still on scene.
The male, identified as Greco had already left the scene. While interviewing the victim Greco returned. When police attempted to make contact with him he fled in his vehicle.
Waterloo man forged references’ signatures on pistol permit application, deputies say

A 41-year-old Waterloo man has been accused of forging references on his pistol permit, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
Steven S. Marquart, 41, of 1074 Donnelly Road in Waterloo, was charged with two counts of second-degree forgery, two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and making a punishable false written statement, deputies said.
Marquart forged the signatures of his references on his New York State pistol permit, according to deputies.
He was given an appearance ticket in the Town of Romulus.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Waterloo man following a pistol permit investigation.
Sheriff Tim Luce says Steven Marquart, 41, of Waterloo was charged with two counts of second-degree forgery and offering a false instrument for filing. He was also charged with making a false written statement.
Marquart is accused of forging his reference signatures on his pistol permit. During the incident he signed a document verifying that all information was accurate.

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office arrests a man accused of criminal sexual activity with a minor.
Investigators say 31-year old Joel Shirk of Romulus is accused of disseminating indecent material to minors. It’s also alleged that Shirk subjected his victim to sexual activity on twelve occasions between August and October of 2020.
Among the charges he’s facing 12 counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Tags:
