Dec 12, 2020 Dec 12, 2020 It seems appropriate that Mr. Saad Assad’s final letter published in the Star Beacon on the Opinion Page should be printed on the day that he passed away, Dec. 5, 2020. Saad Assad was a wealth of information. He was wise, funny and passionate about his beliefs and exquisitely reflective in his later years. Saad railed and ranted against injustice and insincerity.  We were friends. His words always sparked interest and inspired.  Saad was in his 90s when he passed.  He lived a life few of us could even imagine. As Saad often did, he would close his letters with a question or thought.
