Delta present in Roscommon Town, HSE confirms Friday, July 02, 2021 The Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus is in Roscommon Town, the HSE has confirmed. Concerned about the highly transmissible strain, Community Healthcare West has decided to hold a pop-up centre in the town on Monday, July 5th and Tuesday, July 6th. The centre will be located at the Roscommon Arts Centre and will operate between 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.. People can walk in, book an appointment online, or be referred by their GP in the normal way. The service is available to people over 16 and photo ID and a mobile number are required.

Council to begin on-site soil and stone investigation works at Lough Funshinagh

Share this article There are calls for the planning process to be speeded up to try and save homes and farms facing the threat of rising flood waters Water levels at Lough Funshinagh have dropped four inches since peak levels this year. In an update at Monday s meeting, officials at Roscommon County Council say they are actively working to protect public roads and houses in the area. Mr Shane Tiernan, Director of Services says that a team is progressing the design of the long-term solution which will involve going on site this week to investigate soil and stone in the area.
