Delayed by months for lockdown, Noida to start work on 4 parks soon | Noida News

NOIDA: The Noida Authority will start work on four parks in the city soon. The projects have been delayed because of the lockdown and are now likely to pick up pace, officials said. Ved Van in Sector 78 will be built at a cost of Rs 28 crore. The park will come up on 12 acre. A dog park is being planned near Sector 137 and the project will cost Rs 3.5 crore. A children’s park will be developed near Shilp Haat, Sector 33, and it will cost Rs 8 crore. A waste-to-wonder park from recycled plastic and wood is being planned at Kalindi Kunj. Officials said the details are being worked out and a proposal will be submitted to the authority soon.

In a recent meeting with the horticulture department, the Authority discussed what measures could be taken to improve footfall in the parks and gardens being maintained by the Authority. “Better landscaping by adding features such as floor chess, canopy covered walkways, designer benches, cave concept, grass steps, sloping and introducing other catchy designs within the maintained gardens and parks was discussed in detail and such measures will be introduced during the next makeover exercise,” an official from the Authority said.

As UP Diwas begins, all eyes on Noida | Noida News

NOIDA: UP Diwas (UP Day) celebrations began in Noida’s Shilp Haat on Sunday with Shiv vandana and cultural programmes. Residents also complained about reckless driving of autos and buses NOIDA: City residents will act as traffic marshals to help police manage movement of vehicles at busy intersections. The decision was taken at a meeting of the District Development Residents Welfare Association (DDRWA) on Sunday. The meeting was attended by DCP (traffic) Ganesh Prasad Shah along with ACP Rajneesh Verma, the SHO of Sector 2, Prabhat Kumar Dixit, and other traffic officers. Residents raised the issue of haphazard driving by bus, taxi and auto drivers in many parts of the city. They also apprised the traffic department about the need to train and discipline auto drivers, many of whom are just 14-year-olds and operate illegally, and the need for a weekly meeting of traffic officials with sector RWAs to take feedback and address issues related to traffic in sector markets and other parts of the city.
