Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi on Thursday apologised for her hooligans not farmers remarks, saying that her statement on the alleged attack on a media person during the Farmers Parliament at Jantar Mantar was misinterpreted .
A senior video journalist of a leading media channel was allegedly attacked during the protest organised by farmers against the three farm laws at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

New Delhi, Jul 22 (PTI) After eight months of harsh winters, unforgiving heat, and rains, farmers protesting against the three contentious agri laws on Thursday reached Jantar Mantar, a few metres away from Parliament where the Monsoon Session is underway, unrelenting in their demand that the legislations be scrapped.
“We have come this far after losing many of our own. We are ready for a long haul. We have come prepared,” said Harpal Singh from Bharatiya Kisan Union (Chaduni), as he wrapped his saffron safa around his head.

New Delhi: Farmers’ union said Tuesday evening they will hold a ‘Kisan Parliament’ at Jantar Mantar during the ongoing Monsoon session. The farmers’ union will organise the ‘parliament’ everyday from July 22 and 200 protesters will go there from the Singhu border. After a meeting with Delhi Police officials earlier in the day, a farmers’ union leader said they will hold peaceful demonstrations at Jantar Mantar. They will continue to demand for the scrapping of the agri laws. However, no protester will go to Parliament where the monsoon session is underway.
