Let s Talk: What s your view of plans to ban corporal punishment?

Loop News Let s Talk - Corporal Punishment Prime Andrew Holness is adamant that the Government will have to protect the children of the country by implementing legislation to ban corporal punishment. “It is full time that we stop hurting our children in the name of discipline,” said Holness while speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday. It was a direct response to the perceived spanking death of four-year-old Nashawn Brown at the hands of his stepfather, 24-year-old Shaun Bennett, on Sunday in Willowdene, Spanish Town, St Catherine. The topic of corporal punishment has always gotten mixed views in Jamaica, so Loop News took to the streets in St Andrew to find out if Jamaica’s beliefs have changed.
