BENGALURU: Some voluntary and civic organisations along with two prominent paediatric and mother-care hospitals under the supervision of the State Government have set up three free Covid Care and quarantine centres in the city for children, who are orphaned or infected with Covid.
Dream India Network (DIN), along with Whitefield Rising and two hospitals – Motherhood and Rainbow have set up a fully equipped CCC for children aged between six and 18 years at Kithaganur in KR Puram. “We have 20 children in the CCC currently, who are undergoing treatment. Today, we have shifted 11 children to our quarantine centre in Thambuchettypalya, also in KP Puram. These children were admitted at the CCC and have now tested negative,” said Fr Edward Thomas, Director, DIN. The CCC has been set up at a missionary retreat centre in KR Puram, he added.

Bangalore,: The second wave of Covid 19 pandemic has India has severely affected children. Many children have been left alone either due to parents and guardians been hospitalized or have succumbed to COVID-19. In these tough times children are the most vulnerable and need utmost care and protection to address the grim situation. Children who are either battling the virus or are rendered homeless, Motherhood Hospital has collaborated with Dream India Network, Whitefield Rising, and Aahan Vaahan to provide medical care to such children.
The program is done under the guidance and support of the Child Protection Team (Child Welfare Committee) of the Government of Karnataka. The intention is to provide immediate and appropriate care to children affected and infected by COVID.

An exclusive Covid Care Centre and three
quarantine centres for children from economically backward families, has come up at Medahalli near KR Puram in Bengaluru East.
This is an initiative from the members of Whitefield Rising, a group of volunteers from the residents of the area, who have always been sensitive to the needs of the local community. From flagging civic problems to providing school supplies and breakfast for children in government schools, the organisation has been a strong force to amplify the needs of the community with its representatives.
