Six Rio Rancho students and an administrator had the chance to see in full color for the first time Wednesday, thanks to a donation from a local Air Force veteran.
With a payout from a U.S. government lawsuit against Iran for the 1996 bombing of U.S. military housing in Saudi Arabia, Rio Ranchoan Ron Neldon bought EnChroma glasses for the seven individuals, all of whom are color-blind, plus two EnChroma Color Accessibility kits for other students to borrow.
Abigail Macy Owens, age 18, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on May 14, 2021 following a 15-year journey through cancer and other life-long health issues. Her life was an inspiration to many and an example of hope and resilience.Â
Abby was born on December 28, 2002, with a rare brain disorder that resulted in many challenges and developmental delays that affected her daily life. At age 3, Abby was diagnosed with leukemia and battled through chemotherapy and treatment for five years followed by years of medications and therapies. She relapsed just before her 16th birthday and underwent a bone marrow transplant in May 2020. Abbyâs last year of life was difficult as she struggled to recover and regain her physical strength.

Princeton, N.C. Both Princeton and Lakewood entered Friday night s boys basketball game with perfect records, but Princeton left no doubt about which team would have the perfect record next week.
Behind an impressive performance from senior Jaheim Taylor, Princeton raced to the century mark in a 101-44 win over Lakewood.
It was clear in the first quarter that Princeton was in control. Taylor scored 15 points and his teammates added another 10 led by five from Hunter Bailey as Princeton took a 25-10 lead into the second quarter.
