The Tifton City Council passed a mask mandate for 30 days with no fines or penalties for not following the mask mandate. By Billy Malone | The Tifton Gazette
TIFTON- The Tifton City Council reconsidered a citywide mask mandate after a procedural hiccup called its original ordinance into question, but the mandate passed once again with a 3-2 vote.
Residents both for and against the mandate came to the meeting to speak during public comments, most speaking against such an order.Â
Again, councilman Jack Folk motioned in favor of the mandate with a second from M. Jay Hall. The amended motion limited the order to 30 days and took away all possibilities of fines and penalties for not following the mandate.Â
