Ore Dock Brewing Company Facebook Page There s another opportunity to come together for music shopping, conversation, live music and more at the next Vinyl Record Sale at the Ore Dock Brewing Company. In the second edition of the sale at the Ore Dock since pandemic conditions have lessened enough to allow for community gathering events, the community space will once again be filled with boxes of vinyl records, CDs, cassette tapes and more for music and media lovers. Live music will also be featured at the other end of the upstairs community space during the sale. As the event is sponsored through the NMU Vinyl Record Club, we spoke with Jon Teichman, adviser to the group (and one of two individuals heavily involved in planning and executing the events) about what it takes to put the event together.

Reading to Dogs - ABC 10/CW5

ABC 10/CW5 Marquette’s Peter White Public Library wants kids to read over the summer. –AND–Superiorland Pet Partners wants their therapy- dogs read to them. 10 years ago The library and S-P-P started their “Tails and Tales” summer reading program. Starting Wednesday, June 23 rd, Kids can come to the library and sign up for 30 minute-slots for therapy-reading with dogs. The “Tails and Tales” program helps kids improve their reading and communication skills by inspiring them to read books to loveable, well-trained dogs. Flamingos in the snow : PWPL youth reading program kicks off Monday | News, Sports, Jobs

Feb 4, 2021 Sarah Rehborg, Youth Services librarian at the Peter White Public Library, is excited about the new “Flamingos in the Snow” reading program for youths at the library. Participants fill out reading logs and receive plastic flamingos in return. (Journal photo by Christie Mastric) MARQUETTE Peter White Public Library will host its first winter reading program, “Flamingos in the Snow! Winter Reading 2021.” This event, for kids 14 and under, kicks off Feb. 8 and will wrap up on April 30. “Peter White Public Library is hoping to encourage reading while brightening up the winter landscape with colorful flamingos,” organizers said in an announcement.
