FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE)- Police in Massachusetts are searching for the driver of an SUV involved in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian seriously injured.
Massachusetts State Police and Fall River Police said a woman was hit on April 27 in the parking lot of the Fall River Heritage State Park on Water Street.
The car involved was described as a red SUV believed to be a 2014-2016 Chevrolet Equinox.
After hitting the pedestrian, the driver of the SUV fled south on Water Street. Police said they believe the driver was a “young adult woman who had a small child as a passenger.”

FALL RIVER - State Police and Fall River Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian that occurred April 27 in the parking lot of the Fall River Heritage State Park on Water Street. They are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver and vehicle involved.
The involved vehicle was a red sport utility vehicle believed to be a Chevrolet Equinox, most likely a model from 2014-2016. After striking the pedestrian, the SUV fled the area, heading south on Water Street. The driver is believed to have been a young adult woman who had a small child as a passenger.
FALL RIVER Fall River Police have charged a man with animal cruelty after he allegedly kicked swans earlier this week.
According to police, they conducted an investigation into swans being kicked in the area of Battleship Cove on Tuesday, April 27.
They say that upon completion of the investigation, 32-year-old Shawn Lord has been criminally charged with one count of cruelty to animals.
No other information was provided, but police did say they wanted to “thank the individuals that came forward to report this incident.”
