CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â A new flag dedication ceremony took place on Sunday to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
The event took place at Trinity our Savior Lutheran Church, and the Veterans Band was in attendance on what is their 35th anniversary.
Several people gathered to honor the flag and those who have served in our armed forces. I am very aware the great country that it symbolizes and the many people I am grateful for who have fought and died shedding their blood for our nation, said Pastor Richard Lofgren.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The Mayor s Committee for Veterans Affairs hosted a patriotic ceremony in honor of those who have served our country.
The event at Sherrill Park on Sunday included a joint service color guard and a performance by the Veterans Band of Corpus Christi. The downtown Lion s Club unveiled a special memorial bench and there was a choir presentation by the Special Hearts in the Arts. This weekend happens to fall as one of the first big events that we can actually come together, and for what better reason than to celebrate the birthday of our country, said Mayor Guajardo.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The USS Lexington Museum on the Bay will host a commemoration and wreath laying ceremony today. To honor military members who died in service for this country. The ceremony will begin at 2pm.
Seaside Memorial Park has been honoring military by offering small U.S. Flags to place at veterans graves located at 4357 Ocean Drive.
The Texas State Aquarium is open today from 10a to 5pm located at 2710 N Shoreline Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78402.
The Veterans Band of Corpus Christi performs at 10 am at Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park located at 222 S. Shoreline Boulevard.
