This is especially so with many varying prices from healthcare institutions. Malaysian Pharmacists Society president Amrahi Buang said transparency is the key to avoid confusion and curb profiteering. “The prices for Covid-19 testing must be made known to the public. The government has the authority to execute this, especially now that we are in an Emergency. Once the price has been worked out with the test kit providers, it should be made public,” he said.

Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) president Datuk Liew Sew Yee is looking forward to working with the new state government. “The business community is apolitical and will always want to work closely with the government of the day. “We have been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and really hope the government can help us stay afloat,” he said. Liew said he hoped the state administration, which has changed twice this year, would be stable.
