After years of rumor and speculation, Acura has officially confirmed plans for an NSX Type S.
Set to debut at Monterey Car Week on August 12th, the supercar promises to deliver “more power, quicker acceleration, sharper handling and a more emotional driving experience.”
Acura is keeping details under wraps, but confirmed the NSX Type S will be equipped with an “enhanced” twin-turbo V6 engine as well as a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system.

That isn’t much to go on, but the standard model has a mid-mounted twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that produces 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. It’s backed up by a tri-motor hybrid system and a 1.3 kWh battery pack, which gives the car a combined output of 573 hp (427 kW / 581 PS) and 476 lb-ft (645 Nm) of torque.
