WAKO India Kickboxing Federation gets government recognition
NEW DELHI, Jul 2: The Sports Ministry on Friday announced that it has decided to recognise the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation as a National Sports Federation (NSF), in a bid to promote and develop the sport in the country.
WAKO India Kickboxing Federation is affiliated to the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), the world body for kickboxing.
“It is expected that with government recognition of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation as NSF, the sport of kickboxing will develop at a faster pace in the country,” a ministry release said.

YANGON, June 26 (Xinhua/Reuters): Myanmar reported 783 new Covid-19 cases and eight more deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total infections to 152, 356 and the death toll to 3, 290, according to a release from the Health and Sports Ministry on Saturday night (June 26).
Over 2.7 million samples have been tested for Covid-19 in the country so far.
A total of 135, 050 patients have been discharged from hospitals after 271 more patients recovered on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a stay-at-home order, which will be in effect on Sunday, was imposed by the ministry in Lashio township of Shan State on Saturday as the township has recently seen a rise in daily Covid-19 cases.

Yangon, June 26 : The Covid-19 death toll rose to 3,282 after seven new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours in Myanmar, according to a release from the Health and Sports Ministry on Friday.
The release said 859 of 5,854 samples were newly tested positive, bringing the tally to 151,573 so far, the Xinhua news agency reported.
The number of recoveries increased to 134,779 after 190 patients have been discharged from hospitals.
The virus was first detected in Myanmar on March 23 last year.
