EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. For the first time since the COVID-19 vaccine rolled out earlier this year, no appointment will be necessary to get your first dose in the Lehigh Valley Health Network.
The hospital will start accepting walk-ins without an appointment for the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine for everyone 16 and older starting Wednesday. Walk in, 9 to 5, Monday through Friday at the main campus of the hospital at 206 East Brown Street in East Stroudsburg. No-fuss, no muss, no cost. Just get it done, said Dr. William Cors, Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono.

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. COVID-19 vaccines are now open to all Pennsylvania adults.
People 18 and older can get all three vaccines but only Pfizer s vaccine has been approved for teenagers who are 16 and 17.
Health care officials worry that some younger people are losing interest in getting the vaccine, specifically those known as Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2015. This is not the time to let down the guard. Getting the vaccination, honestly, in the big scheme of things, it s not a big deal compared to the illness itself. I get it. I used to be at an age where I thought nothing was going to happen to me and it would be someone else, but please, I make a plea as I did with my own daughter: get vaccinated, keep yourself safe and keep your family safe, said Dr. William Cors, the chief medical officer at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono in East Stroudsburg.

LVHN-Pocono gets COVID-19 vaccine, Moderna s arrives in Wilkes-Barre
COVID-19 vaccinations continue to spread across the commonwealth and into the Poconos as the effort to combat the coronavirus via inoculations gains momentum.
Lehigh Valley Health Network-Pocono received its first shipment of the highly-anticipated Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine on Friday, Dec. 18, and physicians immediately began doling it out to staff members that very day.
Director of Cardiopulmonary Services Francine Rich-Benton was the first to receive her shot, after which she signed the hospital network’s “Doing My Part” poster to show her commitment to fighting the pandemic.
“It was so exciting to be a part of something so big, that we need so desperately,” Rich-Benton said. “It’s a great feeling to motivate family and friends and the community. I wanted to show them this is important, and don’t wait.”
