LVHN-Pocono gets COVID-19 vaccine, Moderna s arrives in Wilkes-Barre
COVID-19 vaccinations continue to spread across the commonwealth and into the Poconos as the effort to combat the coronavirus via inoculations gains momentum.
Lehigh Valley Health Network-Pocono received its first shipment of the highly-anticipated Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine on Friday, Dec. 18, and physicians immediately began doling it out to staff members that very day.
Director of Cardiopulmonary Services Francine Rich-Benton was the first to receive her shot, after which she signed the hospital network’s “Doing My Part” poster to show her commitment to fighting the pandemic.
“It was so exciting to be a part of something so big, that we need so desperately,” Rich-Benton said. “It’s a great feeling to motivate family and friends and the community. I wanted to show them this is important, and don’t wait.”
