A marine signage manufacturing and installation company from the Netherlands is expanding its operations in Charleston County with a $3.7 million investment, that could add 43 jobs to the region.
Bourne Group will base its headquarters in Mount Pleasant at 301 Ports Authority Drive, relocating from its previous space in North Charleston’s Navy Yard, a Charleston County Economic Development news release said.
Founded in 2007, Bourne Group has an international presence and roots in the maritime industry. The company’s portfolio includes maritime safety signs and service for cruise and commerce shipping industries.
Bourne Group Owner Patrick McNulty said the many people want to live in the Lowcountry, and the pandemic seems to have accelerated this trend.

Haynie said he had been following protocols for town staff after he was notified through contact tracing of an exposure with someone who was confirmed to test positive.

When Will Haynie had a traffic problem, he knew just who to call.
It started with a computer glitch on a busy Friday at the COVID-19 vaccination center at Seacoast Church. Health officials told the Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, mayor that traffic was a mess and wait-times for the vaccine had reached more than an hour.
So Haynie called in the cavalry: Chick-fil-A Manager Jerry Walkowiak.

CNN reports that when a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinic in South Carolina got backed up, the mayor called in an expert - the manager of the local Chick-fil-A restaurant.
