Capt. Kevin Gilleran on Monday identified the victim as 46-year-old Bruce Lee Gilbert, who had been living at the nearby Bridgeport Rescue Mission up until nine days before his death. His body was found after a 911 caller reported around 3:45 p.m. Sunday that they found a dead body on the school’s property on Fairfield Avenue, Gilleran said. Police and medics responded to the scene and found Gilbert in the stairwell. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police officials said officers responded to reports of shots fired on 1023 Main St. around 1:56 a.m. When they arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds. The first victim, a 38-year-old Bloomfield man, died at the scene. A second victim, a 40-year-old Stamford man, was still alive when officers arrived, police said. The Stamford man was rushed to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

(KSLA) — A Shreveport condominium complex is a total loss after a two-alarm blaze that took firefighters hours to get under control, the city’s Fire Department reports. About 60 firefighters, 18 fire units and seven support staffers were involved in the firefighting efforts that began the afternoon of Wednesday, April 21 at Fairfield Oaks in the 3800 block of Fairfield Avenue.
