HAMPTON, Va. Scratch Bakery started years ago in Lashonda Sanford s home. Her daughter was celebrating her second birthday, and Sanford needed a cake. After making multiple calls and finding no one to help, Sanford took matters into her own hands. She baked and decorated an Elmo-themed cake from scratch. We put the cake on the table for the party, and all my friends were like, oh my God, where d you get this cake? And I was like I made it. So I always say that s the birth of Scratch, said Sanford.
January can be a difficult month for some so the team behind Weâre All In This Together, the web series for seniors, is very happy to announce that our next episode will focus on Mindfulness & Movement with Mariko Tanabe, and how it can help you cope with the stress of winter and the pandemic.
The episode, to be released on Friday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m., follows Mariko Tanabe, a movement therapist and professional dancer for decades, who uses storytelling to guide viewers through meditation, relaxation and gentle, playful movements to help support the immune system. Inspired by the work Body-Mind Centering, Mariko incorporates therapeutic self-touch techniques, while sharing her Japanese Canadian heritage to encourage us to connect with our own ancestry during the process. And let s face it, who couldn t use a little finger snapping, feet tapping and hand clapping to bring a smile to our face about now? All ability levels can participate!

Spring Baking Championship along with professional chefs and show judges Kardea Brown, Nancy Fuller, and Duff Goldman. The new season will follow 11 competitors as they face off to bake the most creative, delicious, and intricate springtime desserts.
Each episode, viewers can expect to see contestants showing off their top-notch baking skills through two rounds of spring-themed challenges, all of which will take place in the outdoor Spring Baking Tent.
