Unquestionably 2020 was a difficult year. As we begin 2021 I hope the availability of a vaccine will allow a return to normalcy by the summer or early fall.
In the meantime, we do indeed need to raise a hat for some of our community heroes. I must say that my columns, blogs and Suburban On Air video broadcasts have been filled with loads of positivity.
Today, I am focusing on a collaboration between the English Language Arts Network and Seniors Action Quebec. It is called âWeâre All In This Together,â a community initiative to reach Quebecâs English-speaking seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic. We re All In This Together, a web series created by the English Language Arts Network and Seniors Action Quebec, recently announced that its second episode, A Holiday Concert at Martha Wainwright s URSA, was released on December 21. Weâre All in this Together is a community initiative focused on reaching Quebecâs English-speaking seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Holiday Concert at Martha Wainwright s URSA: From Christmas and Hanukkah classics to inspirational original songs interpreted by Quebec artists, the second episode of We re All In This Together is a holiday concert in Martha Wainwright s intimate venue Ursa, located in Montreal s artistic Mile End neighbourhood. Performances include Grammy Award-winning jazz artist Jennifer Gasoi, gospel, jazz and soul infusions by Juno Award-winning singer/songwriter Dawn Tyler Watson, Oscar Peterson Award-winning jazz singer Susie Arioli and upbeat Celtic tunes by the prolific Solstice Trio.

We ve been rooting for her to win, and she did it on Monday night. A home baker from right here in Champaign, Illinois, Jung won the whole competition beating out eleven other bakers and scoring the $25,000 prize plus the title of 2020 Holiday Baking Champion. CHAMPAIGN, III (WAND) - The title of Holiday Baking Champion goes to Champaign s very own Juliana Jung!
Jung was a contestant on The Food Network s Holiday Baking Championship, winning $25,000 and the title of Holiday Baking Champion.Â
Twelve contestants competed for the title. Jung was the only home-baker in the competition and the first home-baker to make it to the finale.Â
Jung said the competition has been a roller coaster of experiences.Â
âIt was also the time of my life because I got to do what I love on live TV. Tt s been crazy like my phone, never worked this hard in my life, Jung said. I knew that there was gonna be some attention, but not at this level, so I m very very thankful that I m getting all this love and support from every single one of them.
