CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The last time basketball games were played on the Key Recreation Center court was in March of 2020, but now this facility and other one in the area are opening back up for folks in Charlottesville
“It’s refreshing being here. It’s like a second home,” Micheal Brown, theoperation manager at Key Recreation Center, said.
It’s been a while since sounds of a basketball dribbling or a net swishing echoed in the gym inside Key.
It’s been more than a year since kids jumped into city pools, but very soon you’ll be able to enjoy all that Charlottesville Parks and Recreation has to offer.

Basketball courts open, picnic shelters, and tennis courts are now available for reservation as of April 1.
Summer camp registration opens for city residents on April 12. Adult softball and volleyball leagues are expected to open for registration later in the month.
Carver Recreation Center, Crow Recreation Center and Indoor Pool, Key Recreation Center, and Tonsler Recreation Center will reopen in May. Summer camp registration opens for non-Residents next month, too, as well as Washington Park Pool for the summer season.
