LABUAN: The Labuan Women’s Affairs Association said the government should subsidise the additional freight charges imposed on containers of consumer goods of ships from Port Kelang which a shipping company has decided to apply as “over-carry” surcharge amounting to RM3,000 per container due to apparent confusion on SOP by the Federal Territories Ministry.

International relations minor sets graduates on global paths

Blair Lapres ’09 is an economist at the World Bank, working on private sector development with governments across the globe, from west Africa to parts of central Asia.
Tony Zhou ’19 worked in Zambia through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Now he’s based in Khartoum, Sudan, with the Darfur Women Action Group, a women-led NGO for survivors of the Darfur genocide.
Ashni Verma ’21, an industrial and labor relations major, is heading to a job as an analyst at the U.S. Government Accountability Office after graduation. These are just three of more than 400 undergraduates who have earned an international relations minor at Cornell.
University of New Orleans planning and urban studies professor Marla Nelson has been selected as a 2021 inductee into the Urban Affairs Association Honor Roll. Nelson is one of 16 people to receive the award, which recognizes the association’s most impactful service leaders.
The Urban Affairs Association (UAA) is the international professional organization for urban scholars, researchers and public/nonprofit service providers. The association is dedicated to creating interdisciplinary spaces for engaging in intellectual and practical discussions about urban life.
Nelson, who coordinates the Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) program at UNO, has published widely on the impacts of and responses to industrial and occupational restructuring in U.S. cities and regions, human capital and interregional migration, and post-disaster recovery and redevelopment.
