The City of Belleville will be opening the warming centre tonight and tomorrow at the old Belleville Police Station located at 93 Dundas St. East.
Staff will keep the warming centre open from 8 pm until 8 am. There will be no beds or meals provided. COVID-19 screening, registration, and a face mask will be required for those wishing to come in.
The City has a policy in place that activates the warming centre when temperatures drop to -10 C (-15C with the windchill).

Free rides are coming to a close on Amherst Island.
Loyalist Township announced this week that ferry staff will resume collecting fares on March 8. This comes after no money has been collected from passengers since the start of the pandemic.
There will once again by a $10 fee for cars, trucks, farm equipment, and school buses.
However, those who travel on a bicycle or motorcycle will not have to pay.
Loyalist Township is reportedly working on contactless payment for the ferry. Public health protocols on the boat will continue to remain in place like mandatory masks when you purchase your fare, and physical distancing.
