Capt. Dawn Ballas of the Pueblo County Sheriff s Office has been a lead organizer for a few years and is also recognized as a regional director, and has been involved with the Special Olympics community in the Pueblo region for nearly 15 years. We re pretty excited about this because obviously we didn t have a run last year due to COVID, she explained.
She said that the Wednesday date was due to the vast majority of off-duty law enforcement that could make the event from all of Pueblo County s law enforcement agencies.
Also participating are acting Chief of Police Chris Noeller and Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor, who have been active in the effort before.
Morning Class Hours (AM): 8:15am-11:15am
Supervised Lunch & Mid-Day Exercise: 11:15am-12:30pm (offered only to students attending both an AM and PM session in the same week)
Afternoon Class Hours (PM): 12:30pm-3:30pm
Transportation
Transportation is being offered. Pick up and drop off locations will be at the child’s home-feeder middle school. For example: If your child attends Challenge Magnet School, but their home school is Indian Ridge Elementary, their home-feeder middle school would be Laredo Middle School. Parents still have the option to provide their own transportation to and from where Inside Out will be taking place. Please note that 1st through 8th graders will be riding on the same bus.
