Man accused of shooting toddler in leg in Denton County turns himself into police

LITTLE ELM, Texas - The 25-year-old man who police said shot at his girlfriend’s car, hitting a toddler inside, turned himself in Sunday morning.
The shooting happened at about 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Watts Grocery Store in the Denton County town of Hackberry.
According to police, Demetrius Davis drove up to the store and shot at his girlfriend’s car, which had her child and her sister inside.
The child was shot in the leg. She was taken to a hospital, where she is in stable condition.

Feb. 24 In the span of 30 years, Durham restaurant Palace International has known three homes. It is now in search of its fourth.
Last week, Palace International owners Caren Ochola and her children Moses and Susanna Ochola announced that the restaurant will close after 14 years on Broad Street at the end of February, unable to agree on a new lease. The restaurant may close, they said, but that they intend to search for a new location. The neighborhood has been incredible in supporting us, Moses Ochola said. It s hard to move away from that neighborhood, because we saw ourselves as a neighborhood restaurant. . Durham as a community has been incredibly good to us.
