Nazareth teachers drop threat to move to full remote learning, with talks set
Updated Feb 04, 2021;
The Nazareth teachers union said Thursday night it has withdrawn a letter to the school district, interpreted by the superintendent as a threat to move to full remote instruction.
In a statement, the Nazareth Area Education Association now says it’s sent a new letter to Nazareth Area schools Superintendent Dennis Riker and the school board.
“In the letter, we accepted Dr. Riker’s offer to join in collaborative discussions with the Board of Directors and himself,” the statement reads. “Therefore, in good faith, we have withdrawn the letter sent by Attorney Paul Blunt on January 29th, and intend to continue with the educational models currently in place.”
