Our Best Bites: City Limits This week we hit the road and drove out to City Limits in Rock Island, where we found a bar and grill heavily focused on being local. It s why they re one of Our Best Bites. City Limits is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. One of their biggest sellers for breakfast is their biscuits and gravy, but we decided on the Salty Hog Pancakes. Townsquare Media Fluffy sweet pancakes filled with savory crumbled bacon and topped with homemade caramel pecan sauce and a dash of powdered sugar. Annual campfire restrictions set to begin on BLM rivers in Central Oregon

Annual campfire restrictions set to begin on BLM rivers in Central Oregon Oregon Dept. of Forestry/file Safe campfires are a special part of enjoying the great outdoors, but there can be limits, even bans in some locations. PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) Annual campfire restrictions will go into effect June 1 on portions of the Deschutes, John Day, White and Crooked rivers, as well as on BLM-administered lands along Lake Billy Chinook. Reducing the risk of wildfire helps BLM be a good neighbor in the river canyons, while facilitating commercial recreation and multiple-use opportunities, the agency said in a news release Thursday. The number one goal of the BLM is promoting employee and public safety, and the river canyons present a combination of limited access, grassy fuels that dry out quickly, and steep slopes that allow wildfires to spread rapidly.

Crooked River falls to near-record low levels; Prineville Reservoir at lowest point since 1974 US Bureau of Reclamation Could affect recreational activities this summer, Bureau of Reclamation says PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation advised Friday that the public should expect lower than normal water levels in the Crooked River this spring and summer. Flows will be lowest near Prineville and Smith Rock State Park, and could potentially impact recreational activities. Multiple years of drought conditions and low snowpack runoff into the reservoirs are contributing factors, a news release stated. “Record dry conditions have caused increased irrigation demand from the reservoir much earlier than usual,” said Gregg Garnett, USBR s Bend Field Office manager.
