Oregon Now Has its First “Dark Sky Park” Securing a Dark Sky Park designation is a rigorous process that requires minimal light pollution. Crooked River near Prineville Resevoir. Prineville Reservoir State Park is now Oregon’s first Dark Sky Park, a designation awarded by the International Dark Sky Association to locations with minimal light pollution. “The park offers a genuine night-sky experience for those coming from light polluted cities,” Bill Kowalik, chair of the Oregon chapter of the International Dark Sky Association, said in a press release. “Formal recognition of this International Dark Sky Park, located in rapidly growing Central Oregon, will help to educate the public and deci

CROOKED RIVER RANCH, Ore. Birds of prey flew in circles far below as I walked along the edge of Central Oregon’s mini Grand Canyon.
At the bottom of the sheer cliff walls, hundreds of feet down, the Crooked River flowed serenely.
The Central Oregon High Desert offers some memorable locales to hike during springtime, and the Crooked River Gorge is certainly one of them.
Cold side processes to include cellar management, yeast management, monitoring fermentation, and beer transfers
Assist in packaging including kegging, bottling, and canning
Occasionally fulfill Bent River’s draft line cleaning obligations
Manage and participate in barrel-aging of beers
Help hire, train and supervise brewing and production staff
Ensure all areas of the brewery are up to cleanliness and sanitation standards
Overseeing the safety and security of the staff or any visitors to the brewery
Ensure current products are brewed to Bent River Standards and develop new beers for the company
Participate in offsite events that Bent River is involved in
