Harrow parking permits among cheapest in London research shows

Research conducted by Compare The Market found the average cost of an annual resident permit was in the bottom third when measured up against other boroughs in the capital. At £65 a year, it was the 24th most expensive area in London to park, sandwiched between Waltham Forest (£78) and Newham (£61). This is despite an increase across the board from April 1 this year, with the overall cost dependent on the age of the vehicle, fuel type, and number of vehicles owned.

Almost £7.5 million will be spent in Wealdstone, Harrow, to build a bridge between the new Harrow View East housing development and the town centre. Part of this funding, secured under the Government’s Future High Streets Fund, will also be used for wider public realm improvements, as well as a continued push towards ‘smart city infrastructure’ in the area. Harrow Council explained Wealdstone remains a priority area in the borough, including in terms of boosting housing and employment.

Old Redding Harrow Viewpoint car park to reopen in summer

Harrow Council confirmed the car park in Old Redding, known as The Viewpoint, will soon be available for use again following renovations. This includes resurfacing to allow for up to 60 cars in marked bays, and a new barrier made of mounded earth to prevent people driving over the adjacent grass. There had been calls from the public for the council to clarify the situation after signs were put up on the gates announcing “major landscaping works”.
