Flotsam & Jetsam: Backyard treasure hunting and fish from above

A family in Torrance, California, found themselves dealing with unwanted guests last week when several hundred migrating birds, uh … dropped by, swooped down their chimney and took up residence in their living room while they were out. What’s more, they apparently didn’t want to leave and made quite a mess of things. The owners had to build a chute leading out the back door. (Nice place, folks; we’ll take it.)

To the rescue: Wing, a drone company that has teamed with the Virginia Skyline Council to help alleviate the problem. The girls prepare the packages and handle the logistics, but don’t actually pilot the drones. (That’ll come next.)
