Fremont County Library System to receive arts-based programming for older adults

Fifteen Wyoming libraries will soon offer arts-based programming that will enrich the lives of older adults (55+) in their communities through the Creative Aging in Wyoming Public Libraries Project. The project is made possible through a partnership between the Wyoming State Library, Wyoming Arts Council, and Lifetime Arts with funding from the Wyoming Community Foundation and the May & Stanley Smith Charitable Trust. “Wyoming is a beautiful state full of artistic inspiration,” said State Librarian Jamie Markus. “We’re grateful our libraries will now have even more opportunity to bring arts education and enjoyment to our communities’ older patrons.” Advertisement Creative aging is the practice of engaging older adults in participatory, sequential, socially-engaging and professionally run arts programs. Call-in numbers announced for Community Support Grant panel meetings

The panel review meetings for the Wyoming Arts Council’s Community Support Grant (CSG) applications will be held online May 19-20. Applicants and the general public are invited to call in and listen to the panel review and discussion. Review of applications requesting operating and project support as well as arts learning funding will begin at 9 am on May 19.
