Two people injured in a supermarket stabbing in Dunedin last month say they are slowly getting better but memories of the incident continue to haunt them.
Four people, including two supermarket employees and a Corrections staff member, were hospitalised after the stabbing at Cumberland St Countdown. A 42-year-old man was subsequently charged with four counts of attempted murder.
In a joint statement on Monday two of the stabbing victims, Vanessa Andrews and Jorge Fuenzalida, expressed thanks to those who had helped them following the attack.
During that attack, which also injured two Countdown workers, it is understood the couple went to the aid of others and were seriously injured themselves.
