Regina woman facing list of charges after stopped for stolen vehicle

Regina / 980 CJME Jul 21, 2021 | 6:01 PM A stolen vehicle spotted by Regina police has led to a long list of charges for one woman. Members of the Regina Police Service (RPS) stolen auto unit located a stolen vehicle travelling in North Regina Tuesday. A spike belt was used to try to stop the vehicle, which kept driving until it was eventually abandoned near McCarthy Boulevard and Whelan Drive. A perimeter was then set up by police and a canine track established by the RPS canine unit. The female driver of the vehicle was found hiding in a yard on Benjamin Crescent and taken into police custody. In a search incident to arrest, officers found drugs on the woman and several pieces of identification that reportedly did not belong to her.

Regina to sign MOU with Carry the Kettle

  REGINA Regina’s Executive Committee has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the City and Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation. The goal is to formalize CTK’s plans to pursue growth and development on lands it owns in the Northwest part of Regina. CTK suggests the memorandum signals to the public that the two parties will work towards a future Municipal Services Agreement (MSA) to allow for development opportunities. Executive committee also approved a Municipal Services and Compatibility Agreement with George Gordon First Nation. George Gordon wants land located at 400 Broad St. set apart as reserve land pursuant to the terms of the George Gordon Treaty Land Entitlement Settlement Agreement.
