Ty’s mom, Ann Smith, said she has a flexible job, but having her two children home from school was hard. She said she also feels better about their safety, and the safety of other community members her children come into contact with.
“We just know this is the first step to normalcy, to get everything opened, and we were just so thrilled to have this opportunity that the school district partnered with CHAS, it was phenomenal, super easy.”

North Central H.S. enjoys first prom after tornado destoys school

Kershaw, SC (WOLO) The students at North Central High School have missed out on a lot of events, and celebrations after a EF2 tornado destroyed their school last year.
One thing they’re not going to miss out on though is one of highlights of High School, the prom!
The Carolina Panthers football team reached out to the school to make it happen by donating everything from the dance floor tonthe D.J., the smiles however, were all there own.
Wednesday evening, students were able to dress up, and dance the night away at the Carolina Motor Sports Park in Kershaw. These students now have new, and much happier memories that will last a lifetime.

Spokane Public Schools Board votes unanimously to change North Central, Garry mascots

SPOKANE, Wash. The Spokane Public Schools Board of Directors voted unanimously to change the mascots and symbols at two schools. This comes after Governor Jay Inslee signed a measure to ban the use of Native American names, symbols and images as school mascots, logos and team names at most public schools.
North Central High School and Garry Middle School have the Indians and the Chiefs, respectively, as their mascots. This comes after students, alumni, and community members spoke up in favor of removing Native American symbols in a meeting last month.
Hamilton Heights to hold prom thanks to generosity of community after deadly crash

ARCADIA, Ind. On May 1, students at Hamilton Heights High School were preparing for prom. But it was abruptly canceled when a car crash killed senior Kalen Hart and her date, Cathedral High School junior Lendon Byram.
On Thursday, May 13, the school announced plans had been made to have prom. It came about thanks to the generosity of businesses and people in the community.
