The executions behind Andrew Peacockâs Cambodia crusade
The late politicianâs principled stand against murderous dictator Pol Pot in the late 1970s would forever change the way Australia deals with foreign regimes.

It was an unlikely setting for a bust-up between an Australian prime minister and his foreign minister. En route to New Delhi for a meeting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government in September 1980, Andrew Peacock presented Malcolm Fraser with compelling evidence that two young Australians, David Scott and Ron Dean, had been tortured to death by the Khmer Rouge in what was then known as Kampuchea.

Many people in Cape Coral are sick and tired of trash piling up in their neighborhoods. You’ve been sending WINK News pictures and videos of the piles of stuff you hoped to never see again.
Now, the City of Cape Coral is teaming up with Waste Pro to offer you central drop-off locations for your trash.
Carmen Sprague lives in Northwest Cape Coral. “Yeah trash is a huge problem out there,” Sprague said. “We hadn’t really started having problems until about the last six months.”

People on islands or at sea off parts of Western Australia’s north-west coast have been ordered to evacuate, as two tropical cyclones bear down.
Emergency services late on Friday told residents in the Exmouth Gulf coast and parts of the Gascoyne coast to prepare for severe weather expected to arrive on Saturday afternoon and evening.
Tropical cyclone Seroja is expected to make landfall near Carnarvon on Sunday
A separate tropical low could develop cyclone intensity and combine with Seroja
The cyclones will dance as part of the Fujiwhara Effect, meteorologists said
A third tropical low is also developing near the Cocos Islands, north-west of WA
Evacuation orders were issued for much of the WA coast on Saturday morning
