TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Of the 16 people who chose to publicly share their thoughts on the Welaunee Boulevard Expansion Project, the overwhelming refrain was to wait before making such a long lasting and expensive decision.
The project aims to ease traffic in the northern part of Tallahassee.
It s expected to generate $104.6 million in sales and revenue, $2 million worth of car maintenance and fuel cost savings by 2025, and 650 new jobs. But people like Kathy Archibald who live in the affected area say, This road is too soon, it s too expensive, and there are cheaper alternatives.

My daughter called me, she works at a station she was like Mom you better go get gas they re running out of gas they re shutting down, said Brenda Moore.
The Pierre Police Department is looking for a pickup stolen on Friday.
Capt. Derald Gross says a black, 2003 Dodge R25 pickup was stolen from the 300 Block of North Monroe Avenue. Anyone with information should call the Pierre Police Department at 605-773-7420.
On a somewhat related note, Pierre residents are being reminded to lock their vehicles when parked outside. The police department has had a number of thefts calls recently about property being taken from unlocked vehicles.
