Bellevue enters play with a 17-5 overall mark and a 12-2 record in the North Star Athletic Association. The Bruins were 4-1 in 2020 before taking a fourmonth hiatus from competition. Bellevue picked up play on February 13 and proceeded to go 13-4. Two of the losses were to Viterbo and another was in league play to Mayville State.
The Bruins are topped by Eve Fountain’s 3.72 kills per set average and a .275 kill percentage. Sierra Athen has a 2.79 kills per set average to go with 2.89 digs per contest. Jacki Apel is averaging 2.41 kills and Coree Lipovsky is good for 2.01 kills. Olivia Galas accounts for 11.29 assists per set and she averages 2.72 digs. Anna Koehler is the top digger with a 4.46 average and she ahs 15 ace serves. Fountain has a 3.31 digs per set average and leads the team in aces with 28.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (vcsuvikings.com) – Valley City State’s softball team allowed just two runs and five total hits on Wednesday as the Vikings swept a doubleheader against Mayville State University.
Amber Stewart and Emily Smith both pitched complete games and the Vikings widened their lead in the North Star standings with 10-1 and 5-1 wins over the Comets, who entered the day three games back of VCSU.
Valley City State is now 23-5 overall and has a 16-2 record in the North Star Athletic Association. The Vikings lead the NSAA standings and are four games ahead of second-place Bellevue University with 10 conference games remaining. Mayville State entered the day in second place in the NSAA standings, but now sit in fourth place with an 11-7 conference record and a 15-15 overall mark.

Mertz hit a grand slam in the fifth inning and a two-run shot in the eighth inning of the opening game, powering the Vikings to a 10-1 victory. In game two, Mayville State scored five early runs en route to an 8-3 victory.
Valley City State is now 13-18 overall and 6-4 in the North Star Athletic Association. Mayville State, which entered the night with a share of the conference lead, is now 18-9 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
DICKINSON, N.D. – Valley City State University hit 10 home runs and scored 36 runs Friday during a baseball doubleheader at Dickinson State University.
The Vikings hit five home runs in each game as they swept the doubleheader by scores of 16-5 and 20-5. Jorun Hamre, David Demeter and Dustin Mertz each hit two home runs on the day. VCSU also pounded out 12 doubles in the doubleheader.
Valley City State improves to 11-16 overall and 4-2 in conference play. Dickinson State drops to 3-15 overall and 1-5 in the North Star Athletic Association.
