Happy Motherâs Day!
I think Iâve done a half-decent job as a mom. My youngest texted me the other day wondering what we were doing for Motherâs Day. At this writing, weâre still not sure but at least he asked. Well, he does have his hands full with an energetic 4-year old and a not so energetic, eight-months pregnant wife. Yes, itâs true â Grammy Tammy and Papa Allen are expecting a new grandbaby in June.
Iâll give Kevin a pass on Motherâs Day this year. Like I said, he has his hands full.
Early evening on Thursday, April 8, 2021, a small group of
Montgomery Community Media (MCM) members gathered virtually for a quarterly showcase series that first started in December 2020. Intended to showcase completed media projects or works-in-progress, the space attracted presenters and audience members with the promise of feedback, discussion and possible entertainment.
While open to the public, only those who are current members of MCM were allowed to present their work. Presenters for the evening included
Eliza Carney,
Dr. Donna Vincent Roa and
Dr. Hurriyet Ok. Their high-quality media projects spanned various topics but all included music in some aspect. Audience members asked compelling questions about each project– from inquiry on tools used to create content to the inspiration behind each piece. Eliza Carney’s presentation featured

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Because everyone loves a good party Staten Islanders should be sure to mark their calendars for Sunday, April 25 at 7 p.m. when the St. George Theatre will host its first-ever “Ring in the Spring Virtual Gala” as a way to raise necessary funds for the non-profit theater.
The event will celebrate the community anchor that is the historic movie palace.
Virtual Gala Video Presentation : The one-hour special will feature a red carpet segment, a sneak peek at the latest renovation projects, and video messages from special star guests along with a musical performance.

The Santa Fe Symphony’s 2021 Spring Virtual Concert Series kicks off Sunday, March 21, at 4 p.m. with Music of the Universe filmed at Meow Wolf of Santa Fe! Experience your Santa Fe Symphony players performing in this multidimensional mystery house with secret passages, portals to magical worlds, and an expansive narrative amidst surreal, maximalist, and mesmerizing art exhibits.
