Spotify launches a new virtual concert series

Spotify is entering the virtual concert business with a new feature that is meant to provide a live show experience virtually. The auto streaming platform has announced a new concert series. The series of shows includes artists such as The Black Keys, Jack Antonoff of Bleachers, and Leon Bridges which will run from May through June.
Only one ticket per show
Each ticket is linked to a Spotify account. This means, a Spotify user can only purchase one ticket per show. Users who purchase the ticket and do not have a Spotify account will be prompted for a free sign up when purchasing a ticket for the show, as per an FAQ page.

WHAT: This year, Auction of Washington Wines’ annual Wine & Music event will take place over a full week to celebrate the bounty of Washington wine paired with an online auction, virtual concerts and winemaker dinners. May 18-23, guests are invited to participate from wherever they are, and those ready to venture out can gather at intimate wine-focused dinners in eastern Washington wine country.
The virtual auction will showcase some of Washington’s most coveted wineries and experiences through 120 auction lots. Lots include a six-year vertical of Sangiovese from one of Washington’s best-known wineries, Leonetti Cellar; a staycation in Woodinville at the boutique Archer Hotel; and tickets to a Train concert held anywhere within the United States before December 2022, complete with airfare from Alaska Airlines.
Unity Hall, Barneveld’s historic concert venue, will be presenting the third installment of its Virtual Concert Series beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 13, with “the little band with the big sound”, Sirsy, viewable at www.unityhall.com.
While the virtual concert series has been enjoyed by people all over the country – to the tune of over 10,000 hits – for entertainment director Matt Mielnick, this series has been as much about creating a forum for out-of-work musicians struggling through a pandemic.
“These people make their living playing music. Being a shut-in meant that many of these pros would be out of work for who knows how long” notes Mielnick. “That was our first focus: How can we support these artists for as long as it takes to get back on a stage?”

The Santa Fe Symphony’s 2021 Spring Virtual Concert Series kicks off Sunday, March 21, at 4 p.m. with Music of the Universe filmed at Meow Wolf of Santa Fe! Experience your Santa Fe Symphony players performing in this multidimensional mystery house with secret passages, portals to magical worlds, and an expansive narrative amidst surreal, maximalist, and mesmerizing art exhibits. Access to MUSIC OF THE UNIVERSE is free but tickets are required. This inaugural performance is their gift to the community for supporting them through the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
