A 60-year-old man was pronounced dead about 40 minutes after being struck by a vehicle at 5:54 p.m. Wednesday on North Seventh Street near Sumner Avenue in Whitehall Township just beyond the Allentown border, authorities say.
Edwin Rodriguez, of Whitehall Township, died at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said. An autopsy on Friday will help the coroner’s office determine the cause and manner of the man’s death.

Lehigh County coroner seeks next of kin for Allentown man

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office is seeking the next of kin for an 62-year-old Allentown man who died this past Thursday.
Charles Souders Jr. was pronounced dead by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Gabrielle Alcaro at 10:09 p.m. in South Whitehall Township. An autopsy was performed this past Friday. The cause and manner of Souders’ death are pending further forensic testing.
Anyone with family information for Souders is asked to call the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office at 610-782-3426.
