The 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which was due in November 2020, is underway after a fair bit of uncertainty caused by the pandemic. The 8-day festival, which happens to be Asia’s oldest, is being held by the banks of the river Mandovi, in Goa.
Even though there weren’t many big releases internationally in 2020, IFFI has managed to string together 220 odd films, both old and new, under various sections. There is no film with the reputation of Parasite (2019), Shoplifters (2018), or Cold War (2018) to look forward to, but here are 12 films to look out for at IFFI this year.

Vikram Dhaktode,
producer of upcoming Marathi film Tarri, for allegedly duping Punebased otorhinolaryngologist and actor-producer Amol Kagane to the tunes of Rs 30 lakh.
Police have lodged a first information report (
FIR) against Dhaktode under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A resident of
Wanawadi, (ear, nose and throat) ENT specialist Kagane (29) the complainant in this case has essayed many roles in Marathi movies, including Halal and Lathe Joshi, and has financed several movies in the regional language. Dhaktode, on the other hand, is the founder of Vikram Creations and Media Entertainment firm.

Narendra Bhide, a popular music director in Marathi cinema, breathed his last in the early hours of Thursday. He was 47.
According to reports, Bhide died of a heart attack today morning. His demise has left the entire Marathi industry in a state of shock.
Bhide was well-known for his popular Marathi songs in films like Deool Band (2015), Bioscope (2015) Chi Va Chi Sau Ka , Ubuntu (2017), Hampi (2017), Lathe Joshi (2018), Pushpak Vimaan (2018), Mulshi Pattern 66 Sadashiv and many more.

Well-known musician Narendra Bhide passed away due to heart attack on Thursday. He was 47.
As per the report by Lokmat, Bhide died of a heart attack this morning (December 10).
A civil engineer by education and a musician by passion, he served as the music director for a number of popular films like - A Paying Ghost (2015), Deool Band (2015), Bioscope (2015) and Chi Va Chi Sau Ka (2017).
Bhide was also the Director at the Pune-based studio Dawn Infotainment.
Other significant film titles in Bhide s recent works include the Hampi (2017), Ubuntu (2017), Lathe Joshi (2018), Pushpak Vimaan (2018) and 66 Sadashiv (2019).
