LUDHIANA: Even as the city received scattered rainfall on Sunday, it left some areas waterlogged.
The showers flooded Ferozepur Road, Chandigarh Road and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. Residents said the authorities were yet to come out with a plan to resolve the problem, which bugs these areas every year.
Chandigarh Road and Ferozepur Road have come under National Highways Authority of India due to an ongoing construction work there.
A resident of Chandigarh Road, Dr Premjit Singh, said, “After a five-minute rainfall, our area was flooded. Sewerage lines are blocked from Jamalpur to Shingaar Cinema. The problem will not be resolved if these are not cleaned. Water from dyeing units in Focal Point adds to the area woes. Every monsoon, Chandigarh Road gets flooded at least 25 times.”

Any how, now, when the job has been allocated to a contractor, even then similar practice was going on in the area.” He said they had request
Ludhiana: The municipal corporation has served notice on Sacred Heart Convent School in Sarabha Nagar on Thursday for filing wrong property tax return. The MC has imposed 100% penalty on the property tax amount.

The civic body officials in the notice mentioned that the school authorities did not file the property tax properly. They estimated that Rs 57.59 lakh tax was still standing as balance and they imposed 100% penalty on this amount and the school authorities were told to pay Rs 1.15 crore to the civic body, otherwise action would be taken against them.
