Red Cross Giving Out Emergency Financial Assistance If you or someone you know is in need of assistance due to substantial damage sustained to a residence, the Red Cross has announced they can help financially. According to Stephanie Fox, Louisiana Regional Communications Director for the humanitarian organization, the Red Cross has identified approximately 1,000 households in Calcasieu and East Baton Rouge Parish that would qualify for emergency assistance. The Red Cross is currently reaching out to households that sustained substantial damage and would qualify for financial assistance. For help or more details, residents can call 1-800-Red Cross. Regardless of your individual needs, a caseworker will be assigned to you and assess what kind of help you need and qualify for.
