Offered through The Ohio State University’s top-ranked College of Nursing, this program provides an opportunity for licensed RNs with an associate degree or diploma from an accredited institution to earn a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
“We are thrilled to offer this program to support the needs of the local workforce,” said Norman Jones, dean and director of Ohio State Mansfield. “We love knowing that we are advancing career opportunities for nurses and supporting the workforce development needs of healthcare providers in the region.”
The BSN allows for nurses to practice at hospitals, clinics, businesses, at-home care, schools, government and physician’s offices.

MANSFIELD - Mansfield News Journal staffers earned four first-place awards, seven second-place awards and three third-place awards Tuesday in the 2020 Ohio Associated Press Media Editors contest.
The awards in order of finish first, second and third places were announced online after a brief ceremony, held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ohio APME is an association of the state s top newspaper, television and radio news outlets.
The News Journal was named the second-best newspaper of its size in the general excellence category. It competes in Division III Ohio newspapers with a daily circulation of 12,000 to 18,999.
MANSFIELD - Mansfield fire Chief Steve Strickling and Capt. Brian Danals, the department s safety officer, said they had an early awareness of the coronavirus and participated in a pandemic drill with Richland County the first week of January 2020. I was looking at my phone and looking at this new virus coming out of China on the day of the drill, Strickling said. Because I have an interest in that, I started paying attention to the World Health Organization website on a regular basis as cases expanded from China and I started talking to the guys and said this could be a big issue for us as it starts going, Strickling said.
