Two paramedics from the Borders have become instant television stars after appearing in the BBC show Paramedics on Scene, shown on Sunday night.

Lee Myers and Nadine Greenfield were filmed carrying out their jobs for the programme – which was filmed pre-Covid – taking a vulnerable elderly lady to the Borders General Hospital after she dislocated her shoulder.
The pair are seen calming the lady, named Margaret, handling the tricky situation of moving the worried pensioner from her home, into the ambulance and on to hospital.
The ongoing India-China face-off in Eastern Ladakh may appear to be a small-scale confrontation between conventional forces. But it is still one between nuclear-armed states, and the threat of escalation cannot be denied. In its wake, India has carried out a series of missile tests, while China too has fired a number of ballistic missiles near the Paracel and Spratly Islands, apparently to warn the US, but hardly something New Delhi can ignore. This analysis makes three key points: the threat from China is likely to persist; India needs to adapt balancing responses to the threat to the requirements of a nuclear weapons environment; and Indian policymakers should be mindful of the possibilities of actual military combat, be it a marginal war, or a trans-domain conflict that involves use of advanced technologies influencing both the nuclear and conventional spheres.

LOS ANGELES The video couldn’t have been simpler: A woman in her apartment, lip-syncing audio of President Donald Trump as he expounded on possible coronavirus treatments.
“We hit the body with a tremendous whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light,” Trump said at the time. “I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning?”

Comedian Sarah Cooper lip-synced the president and demonstrated âinjectingâ herself with a cleaning spray, posting the 49-second video, âHow to Medical,â on TikTok in April. A mere four months later Cooper was filming her own hour-long Netflix special alongside anyoneâs dream guest stars: Helen Mirren, Marisa Tomei, Ben Stiller, Jon Hamm, Winona Ryder, Jane Lynch, Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph.
